Q:Is serum lipase better than amylase in the diagnosis of acute pancreatitis?
A:Yes. Lipase in human body mainly comes from pancreas, while amylase comes from salivary gland and other tissues besides pancreas, such as parotitis and other diseases, so lipase is more specific than amylase. Both lipase and amylase can be increased in acute pancreatitis, but the serum amylase increases for a short time, and decreases to normal after 2-5 days. However, the increase in lipase can last for 10-15 days, which is higher than that of amylase. Therefore, serum lipase is better than amylase in the laboratory diagnosis of acute pancreatitis.
Q:What should we pay attention to when developing lactic acid test items?
A:Blood lactic acid is the metabolite of anaerobic oxidation (glycolysis) of sugar. Blood cells will still undergo metabolic activities in vitro, especially at room temperature, and continue to consume oxygen in blood, producing a large amount of carbon dioxide and acidic metabolites (mainly lactic acid). Therefore, the samples for lactic acid detection should be centrifuged as soon as possible after collection.
Q:How to avoid cross contamination in the detection process?
1. By servicing the instrument regularly;
2. Original or regular cleaning solution;
3. By ensuring the water quality;
4. By reasonably arranging the detection sequence.

Q:If the reagent level in the biochemical instrument is too low, can the double reagents be mixed?
A:It is not suggested to mix the double reagents. In case of creatinine reagents by the enzyme method, in the first step, the interference from the endogenous creatine in R1 will be eliminated; if they are mixed, the detection result will be high; in case of elimination method, HDL and LDL cannot be mixed, because they will eliminate lipoid protein except HDL and LDL, so as to achieve the detection goal. If they are mixed, the determined HDL and LDL will be inaccurate. In addition, after some reagents are mixed, their stability and interference immunity will be reduced significantly.
Q:Why the electrolyte item results are poor?
A:Please check the water purifier resistance (conductivity) first. If it is high, it is suggested to replace the resin filter element of the water purifier. Since the electrolyte test item raises a high requirement for water quality, the high resistance (conductivity) will lead to an accurate result of electrolyte test items.
